Buying a boat or RV is a big commitment! Whether you're a first-time buyer or looking to trade in your current unit, here's a few tips to help you prepare to buy.
6+ Months Out
Find a local dealer and research units on the dealer's website.
Consider the size, type and use for your new boat or RV. Consider renting a unit of that type to see if it fits your needs.
Attend a boat or RV show in your area.
Prequalify for a loan and get an insurance quote to help you understand your budget.
2-6 Months Out
While there's a lot of information online, visiting your dealership is the best way to view and ask questions about units within your budget.
If you're trading in an older RV or boat, ask the dealer about trade-in requirements and savings.
Once you narrow down your desired unit, talk to your financing representative about potential loans. Ask about the timeline for filling out a credit application.
Less than 60 Days Out
Once you've selected your unit and have completed your conversation with your sales representative, they will set a delivery date. Work with the dealer for titling and registration.
If you have not yet filled out out a full credit application with Priority One, do so now. Your loan representative will provide you with the most competitive offer from our lenders.
Consider additional protections, like an extended service plan, to keep you protected from day one.
Secure insurance.
Lastly, take your new purchase home and enjoy!
